A guide, not a clinic

GLP-1 clinic online, explained before you choose

Start here if the names, rules and prices all blur together. This guide turns them into a short set of checks you can use before paying for care.

An online GLP-1 clinic lets you talk with a prescriber by video, phone or online messages instead of in an office. Care given this way is called telehealth. The prescriber decides whether a prescription medicine is right for you. This guide calls that person the clinician: a doctor, or a nurse or physician assistant who is allowed to prescribe. This site does not examine anyone, prescribe or sell anything.

The quick answer

Online care can be real care

As of September 2026, online prescribing is real medical care, and the prescriber generally needs a licence, or some other legal permission, covering the state the patient is in.

The exact visit format can differ. State rules and the care needed can change whether the visit uses video, phone, messages or forms.

One rule matters most

An online visit has to meet the very bar a face-to-face appointment would. If a proper assessment needs an examination or a test, the clinician has to arrange it or refer the patient.

Know what is being offered

Three products can sound alike and mean very different things

FDA-approved medicine

As of September 2026, FDA-approved products include semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy), tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound) and liraglutide (Victoza, Saxenda). Each brand has its own approved uses.

Compounded medicine

Compounding is when a pharmacist or a doctor prepares a medicine for one order, rather than handing out a factory-finished drug company product. A larger compounding business that registers with FDA, called an outsourcing facility, can make it too.

As of September 2026, a compounded drug was not FDA-approved. Before it reached the market, FDA had not reviewed whether it was safe, whether it worked, or how well it was made.

“Research use” product

As of September 2026, stamping “research use only” on a product still did not make it legal to sell it for people to use on themselves. These products are not medicines, and injecting one you bought that way is not a lawful route to treatment.

Where this comes from

Why these claims are here

The legal and care-process points above come from federal sources and state medical-board guidance checked in September 2026.

Telemedicine standard and state licence

Policy from the Federation of State Medical Boards, which represents the state boards that license doctors across the country. It says the doctor must be licensed for whatever state you are sitting in while the visit happens.
